The Oloolua Nature Trail is located within Oloolua Forest and is open to the public. The trail offers visitors an opportunity to explore an indigenous forest and enjoy a range of natural and historical attractions, including a waterfall, the 37-metre Mau Mau Cave, a bamboo rest point, picnic grounds, and a papyrus swamp.
Located a short drive from Nairobi, the trail provides a peaceful day-out in nature while supporting the conservation of the forest that serves as an important buffer to the research campus.
For visitors looking for a longer stay, overnight camping can be arranged for groups upon request.
Visitors can book their trail visit or camping date through eCitizen. Guides, access arrangements, and applicable site rules will be confirmed once the application has been accepted.
