Projects

  • invitro pancreatic lipase inhibition assay: This study aimed to identify potential therapeutic agents for obesity management by reducing fat absorption through inhibition of pancreatic lipase activity

The assay evaluated the inhibitory effects of two plant extracts collected from Kilifi County against the standard anti-obesity drug, orlistat, on pancreatic lipase activity, an essential enzyme in lipid digestion.

  • Participated in high fat research diet formulation: The diet will be used for inducing obesity on rat models.

Phytochemical Analysis and fingerprinting of Herbal Products: Extracted bioactive compounds from herbal products in order to identify phytochemical compounds and their concentration levels in the extracted herbal products.

  • Evaluated anti- obesity effects of Solanum nigrum on high fat fed Sprague Dawley RATS.

  • Evaluated antiobesity effects of Amaranthus dubious, Curcurbita pepo and Vigna unguiculata on Progesterone induced mice.
