Institutional Scientific & Ethical Review Committees.

Overview of the Scientific & Ethical Review (ISERC) Committees.
The Institutional Scientific & Ethical Review Committees, approved and recognized by the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), provide independent scientific and ethical oversight of research conducted or supported by KIPRE.
The Committees review research proposals to ensure that they meet established standards of scientific quality, ethical conduct, research integrity, participant protection and responsible use of animals and biological materials, as applicable to each study.
The Committees provide scientific and ethical review across KIPRE's research programmes, ensuring that proposed studies are methodologically sound, scientifically justified and ethically acceptable, and that potential risks are appropriately identified and managed.
For research involving animals, the Committees work within the applicable animal welfare and ethical frameworks to promote the humane and responsible care and use of research animals, including non-human primates, throughout the research lifecycle.
