National Laboratory Animal Breeding

Research program focusing on animal breeding.

The National Laboratory Animal Breeding Division establishes and operates national breeding capacity for non-human primates required for biomedical and health research. Focuses on responsible breeding, colony management, genetic and health monitoring, animal husbandry and the provision of appropriate research animals to support scientific programmes.

Through scientifically managed breeding programmes, the Division strengthens national capacity for laboratory animal resources and promotes the availability of healthy, well-characterized animals suitable for high-quality research, while supporting responsible and ethical research practices.
